I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dave Anderson on several large projects. His attention to detail, his passion for his work, and his drive are examples of Leadership qualities that will directly translate to his success as Business Manager for Local 290. Over the years, Dave has become a person I look up to, not just professionally, but on a personal level as well. He is one of the most honest and respectful people I know. I know Dave as a young leader, never afraid to listen to the older generation, always ready to learn and completely free of ego. His ability to connect with the young and also the more experienced (old) members of his crews is purely admirable. His approach to leadership is one that is the epitome of natural talent, something that cannot be taught and creates a personality of leadership that we need as a team to move into the ever changing world. He understands the long term negative effects of loss of focus on commercial and residential work, that Intel is not and cannot be the sole financial attribute to our local and has the skill set necessary to bridge the ever widening gap between those scopes of work. He supports ALL members of Local 290 equally and fairly and I firmly stand behind his endeavor to represent us all as business manager. Good luck Dave!!

Back in 2005, I was starting a new project and was searching for a foreman. Talking with Dave's uncle, Mike, he suggested that I give Dave a try. I had reservations about his recommendation since I did not know Dave but Mike is someone that I had always looked up to and I knew that he wouldn't give me bad advice.
Looking back, giving Dave the chance to assist me on this project was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. He was a hard worker, good with his crew, an excellent problem solver and always strived to be at the top of his game. We ended up working together for years until he was finally given the opportunity to become a superintendent on a very large project.
I knew that I would miss working with him but also knew that he needed and deserved a chance to run a project on his own. Dave excelled at his new position and is currently working as a superintendent for a very large mechanical contractor. I'm sure that this contractor will miss him dearly when elected Business Manager but our union desperately needs him to keep us pointed in the right direction.
No matter what Dave is doing whether it be work, family, fishing or hunting, he continuously strives to at the top of his game. I have have a huge amount of respect for Dave and consider him a part of my family. I know that as Business Manager, he will be fair, look out for the best interests of all the members and strive to make Local 290 better that what it currently is.
My vote is for Dave and if you want someone to lead us in the right direction, yours should be for Dave as well.

I have known and worked with Dave for over 15 years, and I can say that he is one of the most honest, hardworking and dedicated person that I have had the pleasure of working with. I can say with great confidence that he will give unselfishly to the issues we have at 290. Dave is someone who can relate to all and leads by example. Right now we need actions and not words, and I believe that Dave Anderson is the person for the job!

I, Ledy Sanchez Bernal, UA Local 114 hereby inform you that I have had the opportunity to work with the company JH Kelly for one year and two months. As an excellent company, during this time I had the pleasure of meeting Dave Anderson who currently works as my superintendent, I can assure you that he is a person of integrity, responsibility and committed to his work, very attentive to his staff, taking care of the well-being and safety for all of his workers and the union labor.

In my humble opinion, he is highly recommended to perform any position that is offered to him.

I first met Dave back in 1995 when his uncle, Mike Anderson, was running a basebuild project in Gresham called LSI. I had been hired as an early term apprentice and Dave had been dispatched as a laborer with intentions of applying for 290 apprenticeship.

What I first noticed about Dave was how quickly he had become a favorite among the local fitters. Being that I myself rarely made anyone's favorite list, I took note.. possibly with a bit of jealousy.
What I found wasn't that Dave's family connection to Mike had created this warm reception; his uncle kept the family relation under wraps throughout the project. What I came to realize was that it was Dave's appetite for knowledge and his energetic charisma that could put even the crustiest and groachiest old fitter at ease. I would be lying if I said I didn't try to emulate these qualities myself but alas, they never took.
These first impressions I had of Dave Anderson still apply today.
I recently joined Dave's team for the MOD3 project and was more than impressed by the youthful tenacity in which he attacks his daily tasks. He is always interested in learning new things and he is always wiling to be open and transparent with each step. He believes this is the only way to operate successfully.
I learned that if you have a hole in your game, Dave is going to expose it. If you try to hide a flaw he is going to dig and find it. He is natural born problem solver and even more importantly, he is a UNITER.
I have seen first hand how Dave and Eric make a great team and I am grateful in advance for each of them giving back to the local like this.
I personally cannot fathom anyone voting otherwise.

As a traveling union pipefitter I have met all types of people. Some of those people make me remember one of the things I love most about being a union man, belonging to a brotherhood, and Dave Anderson is one of those people.
When I met Dave a year ago I knew right away he was someone I could call brother and it would hold meaning. He embodied the core values a union man would have and has the integrity to match. Dave showed true concern for me as a union brother and his resolve never waivered from day to day. He understands and lives his professional life to further and beter those values we have as union workers.
Honest, genuine, respectful, understanding, friend, brother....are a few words I would use to describe Dave Anderson and have no doubts he would be that same guy as a Business Manager. I am proud to call Dave my union brother and am better for it.

I have known Dave for over twenty years. In that time, I have worked side by side with him as an Apprentice, Journeyman and a supervisor. There is no one else I would ever feel more comfortable endorsing to represent EVERYONE for local 290 business agent. No one that has more honor or integrity. No one else that has a better work ethic or respect for our people. Knowing that Dave would be looking out for our best interests not only for us but our future members, is a comfort and trust that can be matched by no one else in my opinion. He is 1000% qualified to make us strong and keep us strong for years to come.

In my ten-year career, my time here at 290 has been a highlight. Men like Dave Anderson have a lot to
do with that. Working under Dave for the last year, his guidance has pushed me to be a better
mechanic and a better person. Dave time and time again has stepped up for his guys when they
needed it most, and has brought a level of professionalism that is uncommon in the construction
industry.
Dave has been a great representative for JH Kelly and I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to work
under him.

I’ve worked for Dave on multiple projects with JH Kelly, and there has not been one person on those
projects more focused on upholding the UA standards and promoting UA work than Dave. When issues
arise, Dave maintains a great attitude and always finds a solution.

I wholeheartedly believe that Dave represents the definition of benevolence and integrity. He is attentive
to crew members and always has our back.
He is very full of energy, which I believe that the hall could use a leader like that. I am voting for Dave because I believe it’s the right thing to do for our future.

Dave is an exemplary leader who has always strived to do what’s best for his colleagues and the

After working alongside him for nearly a decade, I can’t think of a person who is more suitable to be
the business manager of Local 290.
